Negative Nancy says - “Bubble skill is still not a popular skill people often look for”
Me - Nocode is growing exponentially and there will be more jobs around No-Code tools and Bubble is one of the biggest No-Code tools. See CodeMap - an exclusive curated no-code/low-code & automation developers on demand.
Deep-dive & Some niches
Like any other established product, Bubble also provides a lot of advantages considering its vast ecosystem of builders building products using Bubble. Bubble is one of those areas that people would be willing to spend more time and money in the next few years.
Let’s see the various niches you could think of around Bubble and make a profitable business around Bubble.
Bubble Plugins: The plugin market for Bubble is huge. There is a requirement for different kinds of plugins. While you can build most of the functionality right inside Bubble, it is not often easy to build everything. For scenarios like these and for scenarios like where Bubble cannot support, you can bring in external plugins that support a certain functionality or makes it easy to build a certain functionality. For example, below are some sample plugins you could think of.
Advanced Rich Text editors
Markdown supported editors
Date pickers with holiday calculations
Video player to support multiple video formats
Data to charts/visuals
Loading spinners
Advanced scrollbars, nav bars etc
… etc
Like these, you can build hundreds of plugins. For some ideas around Bubble plugins, see Bubble Plugins, ZeroQode Plugins
Note that these plugins can be charged based on monthly/quarterly/annual subscriptions creating recurring revenue. As you make more plugins, the advantage is that you can provide all these under a single subscription and can charge more on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
Bubble Templates: People use Bubble templates both for learning and also tweaking the templates to build their products. Some of the Templates like “Fiver clone using Bubble“, “Airbnb clone using Bubble”, “ProductHunt clone using Bubble” etc are extremely popular and can immediately draw user’s attention to purchase. Start with Bubble Templates and you can extend to other No-Code vendor templates as well with this model. Talk to users and see what users want. For popular ones, you can start taking pre-bookings for a little lesser price. Once you start doing this for a few months, you will have a repository of templates and you can add a subscription model to access any of the current templates along with future templates. Alternatively, you can create a big bundle with access to all the templates for a one-time fee. You can also build Bubble Blocks (instead of full-blown templates) quickly in addition to templates and can use the Blocks ad freebies or for a lesser price. But, the overall point is to target the users interested to build using Bubble Templates/Blocks.
Courses around Bubble: Courses are not new. The course model and training models exist for a long time. Now extending these Bubble courses could be a great fit for the current no-code trend. Start courses about Bubble and expand to other NoCode platforms like Outseta, Backendless, Webflow, Adalo, etc. Make sure you show building real-world use-cases like building marketplaces, Airbnb, etc. Lachlan makes about $5K-$7K with Bubble courses. To host the courses you can use platforms like Teachable, Podia, etc.
Marketplace/Ecosystem around Bubble: Every major product has an ecosystem around it. For WordPress templates, Tailwind templates, Landing page templates, Notion templates - many websites act as a marketplace letting people sell these. Build a marketplace for selling Bubble templates along. Build an ecosystem around this by doing weekly interviews with Bubble design/development agencies, successful Bubble freelancers, and developers. You can also do One-to-one Live Workshops/Cohort based live Workshops for people planning to learn Bubble.
Productized service around Bubble development/support: In the next coming months, more companies are going to bet on no-code tools like Bubble and that opens up more requirements for Bubble devs. Some companies need Bubble development while some need support for any issues with products built on Bubble. Launching a productized services around Bubble development and support would benefit a lot of companies. The productized model is getting popular day by day. If you are new to productized service - check this- “Productized service” is a process of bundling your service in the form of a product for a fixed price and promised effort. In short - you promise what would be done in a fixed time (maybe hours, days, months) or you promise what would be done for a given task and you charge a fixed price for that without hourly billing. DesignJoy makes $300K per year as a one-man team with productized services for design. DraftDev is making $60K MRR with the technical writing for a fixed monthly cost. Start a productized service exclusively for Bubble development and support. But DesignJoy model could be a lot of pressure when you handle too many clients. Aim for quality and target a few number of clients and keep others on waitlist. If the waitlist kept on increasing, bring in someone to support you but never compromise on quality of the output and your mental health.
