Micro SaaS Ideas for SaaS Founders
⛳ 💡 Generative AI Tool for Task Automation
Build an AI tool that enables users to automate repetitive tasks across various web apps and websites using natural language. Users simply describe the task they want automated and the AI then generates the automation workflow for them. The AI tool would utilise APIs and browser interactions to perform actions like filling out forms, sending messages, copying data between apps etc. You can also add a library of pre-built workflows for common tasks. Users should be able to customize these templates or create new ones from scratch using the conversational interface. Similar to tools like Bardeen, it could learn from user actions to proactively suggest personalized automations. Bardeen has 200K+ users. Cykel is another tool for AI-powered workflows used by 400+ customers. Also check iMeanAI for inspiration.
⛳ 💡 Micro SaaS for Simple Auth and User Management
Soloprenuers and indie hackers often need a straightforward and cost-effective solution that allows them to quickly and securely manage user authentication, management and access control without having to divert focus from their core product. Build a tool that handles essential user sign-ups, logins, profile management and basic access control features that developers can integrate in their applications with minimal effort. Provide pre-built customizable UI components for common authentication flows. You can also build this as an open-source project and a paid cloud-hosted plan with more features similar to FusionAuth's model
Kinde was founded in 2021 and it has crossed $686K in annual revenue. Clerk another popular player started in 2020 and received $84.5M in funding.
⛳ 💡 Micro SaaS for AI Voice agent for appointment scheduling
Small businesses and service providers like salons, dental clinics, spas etc. spend a significant amount of time managing appointment scheduling over the phone. AI voices have now become ultra realistic and human like while having a low-latency that is suitable for real-time conversations. A micro-SaaS that provides an AI-powered voice agent to fully automate the appointment scheduling process over the phone can help save time/money. Integrate with Google Calendar, Calendly etc. to avoid double-bookings. You can also provide the ability to transfer call to a human if needed for complex scheduling situations.
Synthflow received $9 million in funding and provides a complete platform that can be used to make outbound calls, answer inbound calls, and schedule appointments. Echowin focuses on AI call answering and workflow automation and is used by parking companies, law firms and others.
⛳ 💡 Holistic Lifestyle Tracking App
Many people often find it challenging to keep track of various aspects of their daily routines, personal growth and well-being. Build an app to manage and track multiple areas of life simultaneously and offer a holistic approach to life tracking. This app would be useful for tracking personal progress, setting goals and developing healthy habits across different life domains. Users can choose which areas of their lives they want to track, such as sleep, nutrition, exercise, finances, mood, personal goals etc. By combining various aspects of life into one app, users can gain a more comprehensive understanding of their overall well-being and how different areas of their lives interact. The app can also provide personalized insights and suggestions based on the user's data, helping them identify patterns and areas for improvement.
Sebastian is making $6.9K+ MRR and $13K+ revenue with his portfolio of tracking apps: HabitKit for tracking habits, Liftbear to track workouts and sessions and WinDiary to track wins and achievements. BodyOK, an iOS app for tracking intermittent fasting, crossed $1K MRR and 51.9K active users. It reached $6.9K revenue in Q2 '24.
⛳ 💡 News APIs
Some many mobile apps and products need up-to-date news constantly. Create a Micro SaaS that provides News API for other apps to get the latest news, historical news, country-based news, top headlines by country, etc. The SaaS should just provide consumable APIs with access keys/secret keys so that news agencies and other apps can just call the API and get access to news. In turn, these companies will use this new inside their apps. As this will be usually a high-volume product, make sure to put access/request limits in place based on the paid plans. See NewAPI for inspiration. Products like these are usually high-value products that charge anywhere between $500/m to $2000/m per customer. You can provide add-ons to get more data around popular hashtags, and trending topics as well based on a given region. You can see to use NewAPI and repurpose the content to provide region-specific news to local apps/websites.
⛳ 💡 WordPress LMS Plugins
Creating a WordPress plugin or external LMS (Learning Management System) that converts an existing WordPress site into an e-learning platform has the potential to be a good Micro SaaS product. This type of solution offers a quick and easy way for individuals or businesses to transform their existing websites into online education platforms. There are multiple ways to accomplish this, including creating the necessary tables and assets directly on the website's hosting or offering a cloud-based solution. For example, LearnDash, a popular LMS WordPress plugin, generates an estimated revenue of $2 million per year. WP Courseware, another well-known LMS WordPress plugin, has surpassed $23,000 in Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), while MasterStudy LMS has over 10,000 active installations. The growing demand for online education and the accessibility and scalability of the WordPress platform makes this a good Micro SaaS opportunity.
